Coming Soon: Cannonball Carmody

Cannonball Carmody 'Operation "PSY" writtenand drawn by Leonard Starr (Mary Perkins On Stage, Annie)
was published by Editions du Lombard in 1984, with a storyline steeped in
espionage and mystery.

Through arrangements with the estate of Leonard Starr, Classic Comics Press is reprinting the original artwork in black and white, scanned from Starr's original stats, with a new Carmody story, The
Hit Man.

"While Cannonball Carmody isn’t
as widely known as Starr’s newspaper strips, it represents an interesting blend
of American comic sensibilities and European graphic storytelling — a testament to Starr’s versatility and international reach."

Connie Dailies 1929-1930

Connie by Frank Godwin started as a daily on March 11, 1929, with the Sunday's starting on April 28th. The strip followed the exploits of Connie Kurridge, free spirited woman and resourceful young woman whose occupations and adventures ranged from aviator and stunt pilot, social worker, reporter, detective, space and time traveler. Connie is the first female adventure heroine in American newspaper comic strips, often cited as a precursor to later adventure heroines like Brenda Starr and Modesty Blaise.

Classic Comics Press is planning to reprint the entire run of Connie Dailies and Sundays. Currently we are working on the first volume of dailies from the strips beginning on March 11, 1929 to December 27, 1930.
